Belle- Going Nowhere

"Lumiere, I just don't know what to do." I paced the floor, nervously playing with my wedding ring. Adam was gone; vanished, into thin air. It wasn't like him to leave without a word, and to say the least, I was becoming more and more worried as time passed.

"No worries, Madame . Perhaps he has gone into town to buy you flowers?" Lumiere stepped towards me, putting a comforting hand around my shoulder.

"Somehow, I don't think so." I frowned and pulled away. I was inconsolable . I had to have Adam there, he was like a protection, a constant. After my father died,  nothing seemed permanent, except for Adam's love. I just had a foreboding feeling, as if he was in trouble.

"If you're suggesting someone has kidnapped Adam, why, that's preposterous. I mean, it's Adam we are talking about. He was a beast at one point, for heaven's sake!" Cogsworth was flustered, and I moved to him, nodding.

"I know. But yet, something inside me tells me I have to go find him, and that's exactly what I'm going to do." I grabbed a basket, stuffing several books of maps of the woods and surrounding areas, and many other supplies I figured I would need.

"Dearie, wouldn't you like a spot of tea before you go anywhere? We must sit down, and talk this over." Mrs. Potts pulled her small tea cart up, offering me tea, just the way I liked it.

"Tempting offer, but no thanks. I must hurry." I moved my way towards the kitchen, hoping to get a loaf of bread to add to my travel supplies.

The three servants followed after me, calling me.

"Madame! What about the castle? You can't leave us here alone?" Lumiere brought up.

"But I can. Lumiere, you and Cogsworth have been running this castle for years now, and you know that." I reminded him, after putting on my cloak.

"Okay. Okay. But what if Adam shows up here? Then you'll have created a whole new problem." Cogsworth argued, trying to show me reason.

What he didn't know was that I had reason. I had all the reason in the world. "You can send him after me. I'm not going to go that far; only far enough to find clues and to make sure Adam is in no danger." I vowed, sending a maid to go and ready a horse.

"Now you three quit your worrying. I'll be fine." I gave each a hug and a kiss on the cheek. "I'll be back before you know it."

The End
