Her steps echoed down the empty road, her eyes flickered side to side, scared that someone would know what she was doing, scared they would chase her down to stop her.
She kept twisting the ring back and forth on her finger, careful not the hit the catch that would open it, spilling the poison onto the floor.
Each step took her closer, until she was at the door of the the husband that left her. Up when her hand to knock- but the sound of children's laughter inside stopped her.
She opened the ring and dropped the poison on the floor.
