"Babycakes," she mimicked, cloying. "Aw, sugary plum. Honey bunches. Fluffle dumpling." She muttered these sickly-sweet nicknames to herself angrily as she stormed out into the hallway.
"I mean, I have a life, too!" she shouted, banging at their apartment door, where the deafeningly sweet pet names were being crooned.
Everyone in the hallway faced her, but she stomped down to the elevator.
