The feel of the bark against my skin was harsh against my skin. The scent of early morning dew filled my breaths. I could hear the birds wake up around me, their beautiful songs giving me hope. I continued to climb, so determined. They told me I could never succeed at anything. So to prove them wrong I found the biggest pine tree. The bristles scratched my skin as I climbed. I ignored the pain, it was just momentary. But the pride I would hold after? That would last forever.
Ad no longer could they call me worthless or pathetic.
