Aoife - Take Me Away

Let me never feel again,

Let my blood run by metal fingertips,

Sliding, slashing, saving,

Don't let me see tomorrow,

Deceptive prospects of another day,

The sunlight caressing, asking me to try again,

Let me curl up in the darkness,

Hold me tightly like a garrote,

With a final breath, I wish to empty heaven,

That without me life will be simpler, better,

And with my hand across my heart,

Red ribbons wrapped around sallow flesh,

Moonlight glimmers over scattered blades,

Tangled with me in eider duck,

I close my eyes, and then I pray,

"Death, take me away."

The End
