We jump into the vents at exactly the same time; luckly, the vent is big and we are small.
We crawl through, the vents creaking very slightly.
"Is there anyone around?" I whisper. Drew closes her eyes in concentration, "No," she whispers, "Why didn't you check?"
"Couldn't be bothered." I say, she shakes her head. "Why are you sympathetic to humans anyway?"
"Why don't you just read my mind," the vents creep more as we crawl.
I raise my eyebrow, "Do you want me to invade you personal thoughts?"
"Well, no, bu- how can you control it?"
"With a lot of practice."
"Yeah," we syncronise our movements, we put our hands down at the same moment, our body weight on our hands. The vent screams, as do we when we fall onto a bloody lab floor.
"Fuck." I say, my language taking a turn for the worst.
