Cobalt Blue

It started off just like every other day...I had no clue that it would end in such an utter disaster.  I was just sitting under a tree at the nature reserve close to my house, my sketch book in my hands.  The sun was shining off the small pond perfectly and a family of ducks floated around its center, making the perfect center piece for my art.

An alarm went off disrupting my serenity.  I pulled out my Ipod touch to read the reminder that i was supposed to be picking up my little sister from her ballet practice.  Sometimes it sucked to be the older brother of a big family.   I put some final touches on the sketch and closed the book promising myself to finish it later.

After I had stuffed it in my backpack I stood up and  headed in the direction of my car.  A flash to my right caught my attention.  It wasn't uncommon for people to come through the forest trails but few ventured to wander this far off the path.   Curiousity got the best of me and I moved in the direction of the movement.

"Hello,"  I called out challenging the imposter to show himself, "I know you're there. Come out!"

A branch snapped behind me and I whirled around, startled.  "I'm not trying to hide, Cobalt."  Behind me stood a woman of amazing beauty, "In fact I was looking for you."

I gulped, "looking for me?"

she smiled, "Shall we do this the easy way or the hard way?"

I gulped again, "What's the hard way?"

"Trust me you don't want to find out."

The End
