I was sitting on a bench in a large, beautiful park when I saw Club approaching. I scowled, and looked away, letting my hair fall like a curtain across my face.
"Hey! Keagan! I need your help!" Crud. He had seen me. I looked up, glaring at him, my lip curled.
"Why should I help you?" I mimicked. He frowned.
"Look. I'm sorry if I was rude to you earlier. Really." He looked straight at me with those cat eyes, and I felt a little piece of me melt. Those eyes really were mesmerising..
"Alright. What do you want help with?" I asked, giving him an angelic smile.
"I... I need you to help me be.. more like a boy." Club muttered shyly.
"You want me to help you be a boy? Um, last time I checked I was a girl." I grinned.
"Yeah but you.. you're like.. kinda masculine. I mean, if you had short hair I'd think you were a guy.." He mumbled. My grin widened.
"Thanks. I put a lot of work into my tomboy persona." I said, with a smile.
"Wait, so.. you aren't offended that I called you masculine?" He frowned slightly.
"Nope. Being called a girly-girl would be the greatest insult you could give me. I wish I was a guy sometimes.. You'd never catch me in a dress." I said, matter-of-factly.
"So.. you can help, right?" He questioned, looking at his feet.
"Sure. But.. It might mean a few changes to your appearance. Like, um, your hair. It needs to be cut.." He frowned.
"Maybe..." He relented.
And there began our sort-of friendship. We weren't really close, but we were allies at the very least. Allied against what, I couldn't tell you. But it definitely was something... I could feel a dark storm cloud ahead, moving toward us at a rapid pace. And it was only a matter of time before it struck...
