Happy Helper

Great, just great. I slept through my alarm on the FIRST DAY I was there! I had to run to get to 2nd period on time. But, unfortunately, its a big school. OF COURSE I get lost! Luckily I ran into Xander, who grabbed me and started pulling me in the opposite direction. We had to stop to let a teacher pass and I saw this really pretty girl run past. My mouth dropped open.

"Dude, who is that?" I grabbed Xander's arm.

Xander looked in the direction of the fleeing girl. He put his arm around my shoulders and said, "That's my sister."

I looked at him, not seeing the resemblance. He laughed, slapped my shoulder, then added, "She's 16 by the way."

Eyebrows shoot up, Xander explains that a trait of their family is the girls are REALLY small.

We made it to Algebra on time and I felt happy. Math was my strongest. I finished the assignment in 5 minutes and looked around. I felt a jolt of surprise to see Xander's sister in my class. She was concentrating really hard on the assignment. I looked around and saw that all the other kids in the school were there as well. Xander's sis seemed to be having a lot of trouble completely concentrating on the assignment itself, she was more interested in the doodle on the side of the page she had drawn. I stood up, and went over to help her. She seemed startled at first, but accepted my help. My subconcious noted that the doodle was really, really good. Pretty soon her assignment was finished and a smile crossed her lips and stuck. I felt happy too.

Am I developing a crush on her? I asked myself. Then class was over. Xander's sister had a secret smile on her lips, as though she had enjoyed math. Xander looked at us both weirdly. She chuckled to herself and shook her head. I realized the reason he was looking at me. A smile was glued to my lips.

The End
