Black Sakura

Princess Lillia has fallen ill, with the only way to save her if she drinks an elixir containing the rare black sakura blossom. To save her life, her best friend and her lover begin an adventure before time runs out.

'I'm so sorry Rosie.' whispered Lillia, looking weak and lifeless in her gigantic bed.

'It's alright Lills, I'll do anything for my best friend. Just get some rest and wait for me.' replied Rosie, tears streaming down her face.

'Miss Rosie, Princess Lillia's doctor would like to speak to you.' said a messenger to a distraught Ro pacing impatiently back and fourth in the crimson room opposite Lillia's sleeping chamber. The weather was about the same as her mood as a heavy rain darkened the sky. She walked into the princesses' room to find the doctor peering over a pale, tired looking Lillia.

'Lills! I've been worried sick!' shouted Rosie, running full speed towards her sick best friend.

'I'm alright Ro, I've just got a fever.' she replied, showing a faint smile with very flushed cheeks. Lillia had always been admired for her long flowing auburn hair, but it looked dry and the colour had seemed like it faded and became dull.

'Aa-hem. Miss Wood, I'd like to have a word with you about the princesses' condition.' said the doctor, looking very serious.

'Oh yes yes, please tell me everything.' said Rosie, suddenly feeling more scared for her friends health.

'... It appears that Princess Lillia has developed a very rare disease. For now her life isn't in danger, but slowly her illness would become more serious and-'

'Okay okay, I know, you don't have to carry on... Just tell me what I can do to cure her.'

'You must find the most important ingredient in the medicine, one that is very rare and cannot be found in this country. It is the blossom of the black sakura tree.'

'I'll do it.' said Rosie, determined to save Lillia's precious life.

'I'm so sorry Rosie.' whispered Lillia, looking weak and lifeless in her gigantic bed.

'It's alright Lills, I'll do anything for my best friend. Just get some rest and wait for me.' replied Rosie, tears streaming down her face.

'But I can't let you go alone Ro. You will be accompanied by my lover, Aiden.'

'Whaat?! Why? You know that we don't have a great opinion on each other. I'll manage by myself.'

'No. It's too dangerous if your not with someone, plus you two are the ones I trust the most. Don't forget your a girl.' Lillia almost yelled, breaking out into a chesty cough.

As Rosie helped Lillia clear her throat and patted her back, she whispered 'Alright alright, i'll do it for you. Please just don't push yourself. Stay with me until we come back. We're going to set of tonight.'

'Thank you. I'm sorry. Good luck.'

With those last few words, Lills fell asleep, as if she hadn't slept for weeks, only what frightened Rosie the most, was the pain on Lillias sleeping face that showed in her expression. This made Rosie all the more determined. After saying her goodbyes, she left the room and went in search of Aiden.
