Cara: PracticeMature

"Looks like I have a job!" I grinned at Anna and did a little victory dance.

"That's  great! I'm so happy for you." Anna smiled. I danced past her and yelled the news upstairs before finishing making Anna's tea and my hot chocolate. Liam appeared.

"And where is my brew you working gal?" He winked throwing an arm around me and squeezing.

"Pfft make it yourself." I grinned up at him. "Well, I guess now all that really remains is to make the band famous and we'll all be working."

"Well you know we'll get there." He laughed. "As long as you can tear yourself from Once for more than a few minutes."

"One word. REGINA."

"Yes, we get it. She's hot." Anna rolled her eyes.

"Yes, but that's not why I like her." I stuck my tongue out. "Anyway, can we go and practice? I feel like it's been ages."

"That's because it has." Liam said. "Sure. I'll text Callum... actually, why don't we make it a lunch time rehearsal? We can rehearse and then have food."

"Okay. Eleven?"

"Sure. Maybe you want to nap first? Looks like all that Regina love has tired you out."

"Shut up." I stuck my tongue out. Truth was I was a little scared to sleep; I'd been dreaming of Sam and her face was always filled with hatred when she looked at me.

"Well I was going to ask if you wanted to help me get a few extra bits and bobs for America." Anna said.

"Sounds great!" I grinned. "Let's go. Back at eleven!" Any excuse. "I'll just go grab some things Anna. I can buy some flat black pumps for work; that's what all the staff were wearing when I had my interview."

I ran upstairs and grabbed my keys and purse and threw them in to a bag. Then I closed my door and ran back downstairs. I had to pause at the bottom, out of breath.

"You okay?" Anna said frowning.

"Fine. Just a little out of shape. And you know, still recovering."

"Yeah I suppose." Her frown deepened a little. "I just figured you'd be a lot better by now."

"Anna it's not been long; I'm not superwoman." I laughed. "Come on, let's go." I patted Liam's chest as we passed him and followed Anna out the door.

"So where do you want to go?" Anna asked.

“Wherever. As long as I get some shoes you can take me wherever you want until eleven.”

“Alright. I want to go to New Look, they had this awesome top in, and there’s a really cute skirt in Primark-“

“-I can already tell you’ll still be at this when I have to get back. Come on then, we’d best get a move on.”

I sat in the changing room waiting to see Anna in this ‘really cute skirt’ she’d found, and received a text from the manager telling me to be at the restaurant tomorrow at ten so they could give me an induction. I smiled and replied in the affirmative as Anna appeared, twirling.

“What do you think?”

“Just lovely?”

“Anna, it’s a nice skirt and you look good in it. Just as you look good in basically everything you try on because of your ‘rockin bod’.” I replied, quoting the guy who had been checking her out as we entered the store. She chuckled and glanced in the mirror.

“I think I’ll get it. Parties in America must be awesome.”

“Is that why you’re really going?” I teased.

“Of course!” She laughed.

“Well promise me this, if you meet Lana Parrilla out there, you get her to sign me and autograph.”

“Of course, I wouldn’t dream of letting your new obsession walk away.”

“Hey!” I pretended to glare at her.

“I’m going to buy this and then we’d better get your shoes for you. It’s half ten.”

“Alright. I’m going to look in the shoes section. Meet you out there.”

“Okay.” Anna disappeared back in to her changing booth and I went to look and see if there were any smart black pumps out there. When Anna rejoined me, I had a pair in hand. “See? All sorted. Now we have time to look at that top before we head back.” Anna cheered. I rolled my eyes and followed her to the checkout with a smile on my face.

By eleven we’d gotten me the shoes and Anna had a top, the skirt, and a whole load of toiletries and snacks.

“You know you’ll have eaten them all before you go right?”

“More than likely.” Anna grinned, already eyeing the chocolate bars.

Liam, Jak and Callum were all sat round the large wooden kitchen table when we returned.

“FINALLY!” They chorused.

“We’re one minute late.” I deadpanned, checking my phone.

“A minute is a life time for people waiting to make amazing music.”

“I’ll remind you of that next time you’re late when you’re only upstairs.” I replied to Jak who chuckled and shrugged.

“Hey, my girlfriend is pregnant. Got to give the lady what she wants.”

“Sure. And what she probably wants is you to leave her alone to sleep, because neither of you are getting any of that done when Blip gets here.”

“Sure we will. We’ll sleep when you lot are looking after the kid.”

“Thanks.” Liam and I both responded in the same deadpanned voice and with the same expression.

“Come on, we’d best make a start.” Callum announced, standing.

“You coming to listen?” I asked Anna.

“For a bit.” She replied. “Then I have to go and send some emails; I have to coordinate with the people out there that are going to be teaching us.”

“Okay, great. Come on then.” I signalled for her to follow and we went downstairs. The boys were already arguing about which song to start with. “Guys, chill your beans.”

The End
