Cara: The EndMature

"You don't have to."

"I said I would."

"But I wouldn't be a good friend if I made you do it on your cheering up day."

"If you're sure. But you'll regret this you know."

"Probably." She laughed.

I grinned and looked down at my phone to reply to Sam. Her text was sweet, but sexy.

A waiter just asked if I wanted ice with my drink. I thought of you. x

I smiled and sent her a text back.

When you get back I'm ordering a Sam a la ice. My favourite late night treat x

"You realise you're blushing right?" Anna giggled.

"Shut up. I can't help that I miss her."

"That's more than missing her. That's fantasising about her."

"I'm allowed." I stuck my tongue out.

"Kind of glad you're not staying with me tonight actually." She said innocently.

"I don't want to wake up in the middle of the night with you moaning her name."

"Piss off." I laughed, giving her a light shove. "Let's just go watch the last films."

"Alright alright."

We watched the final films, crying when Dobby died, when everyone died.

"Best bit is when Molly screams 'Not my daughter you bitch!'" I said as we packed away.

"Nah it's when Voldermort realises he's got the wrong wand."

"What? No it's not!"

"It is!"

"Definitely does not beat an angry red headed mother storming towards Bellatrix Lestrange, and beating her."

"Shush." She put the left over snacks in the fridge and put the kettle on. "Got time for a cup of tea?"

"Actually I think I'd better go before the drunkards start out."

"Of course. I could walk you back?"

"Then you'd be walking on your own."

"I'll be fine. But before I go, I wanted to know. How far have you and Megan got...?"

"We haven't had sex. I know what you meant." She rolled her eyes.

"Ok. Just wondered. Anyway. Better go. I'll text you to let you know I got back safe. Thanks for today. I needed it."

"No problem." She came and gave me a hug and I hugged her back.

"Thank you." I whispered.

"Don't go all soft on me."

"I'm not. Sorry." I said, pulling back and forcing away the tears threatening to form.

"Cara, I can tell you one thing. The fact that you're reacting like this, besides being hopelessly silly, means you obviously do love her. And I am sorry I ever got in the way of that."

"I'm sorry too."

"For what?"

"For not being more understanding I guess." We pulled out of the hug and I sniffed, wiping away tears.

"It's fine, honestly. It was me really. I mean... I couldn't help my feelings but I could have reacted differently."

"Ugh, thought we were past this. Come on, no more." I wiped away the last tears and smiled. "I'll see you tomorrow maybe?"

"Ok. Night Anna."

I left and began the short walk home. My phone buzzed and I realised I had another text from Sam.

I love you. Going to bed soon, want me to call? xx

Please xx

My phone buzzed almost immediately and I picked up.

"Hey." I breathed.

"Hey beautiful. Are you still with Anna?"

"No, I'm walking home."

"On your own?"

"It's perfectly safe."

"Sure it is. That's why I saved you after our second date."

"Mm, I remember. Although I remember the bit afterwards a little better."

"Cara..." She warned.

"Ok ok, I'm almost home." Pieces was right in front of me and there was no one in sight. I slipped down the alley and climbed the stairs, unlocked the door and went inside. "I'm inside."

"Lock the door."

"Okay okay..." I locked it and turned on the light. "There, you happy now?"

"Only when you're being silly about your safety."

"You're more fun when you're here."

"I've had a long day."

"I know. So, what's the sitch in the city?"

"Well, the gallery here needs work on it. It's not as good as I remember, so I'm making sure that it gets repainted and we get some new work in. I think all the good pieces come to wherever I am."

"You're an art magnet."

"Could be." She laughed.

"Hold on, I'm just going to put you down while I get undressed."

"Didn't mean to be."

"Well you are. I want to help."

"Well you can't." I put the phone on speaker and stripped while she moaned about missing me and me being a tease. "Oh shush, I'm naked already."

"What I'd give to see that..."

"Should be framed in your mind by now. You've seen it enough." I carried the phone over to the drawers and got ready for bed.

"I'll dream of it tonight."

"Only with you."

I should hope so."

"I have to go. Dream sweet dreams of me baby."

"Oh I will."

"I look forward to hearing about them."

"If you're lucky we'll re-enact them."

"Something to look forward to. Love you."

"I love you too."

I hung up unwillingly, texted Anna to say I was back safe and put my phone on charge, then I climbed in to bed and closed my eyes.

My stomach twisted and I threw back the covers, jumping out of bed and running to the bathroom. I just made it to the toilet before I threw up everything I'd eaten.

Half an hour later, drained and grossed out, I climbed back in to bed, a bucket near by and slept.
