"Here you go." I smiled, presenting Sam with a cup of black coffee, just how she liked it.
"Well thank you." I got back in to bed carefully, making sure I didn't spill the drinks. I'd no sooner got comfortable when I remembered...
"Oh damn I forgot! I made Leanne and Anna some tea... be back in a minute." I clambered carefully out, blew her a kiss, and went to fetch the tea. Sam was so incredible, I thought as I climbed the stairs to Anna's room. I'd half expected her to not enjoy the party last night, with her being older and more mature. But she'd thrown herself readily in to it, chatting to my friends (half of whom were still passed out in the living room) and generally having a good time. I opened the door to Anna's room with a smile on my face...
Leanne was positioned over a naked Anna, her legs wide apart. I felt the smile drop from my face with the shock, and succeeded in putting down the cups with only a little bit of scalding tea slopping on to my hand before hastily making my way down the stairs. I shoved my hand under the cold tap in the kitchen, and then ran in to my room. I practically threw myself on the bed next to Sam, and she only just managed to save the coffee from slopping everywhere.
"Shit Cara! What's wrong?" She asked, carefully putting down the coffee.
"I just... I kind of... I walked in on Anna and Leanne..."
"Oh..." A small smile appeared on her face, the corners of it squirming as she tried not to chuckle.
"It's not funny. I scalded my hand!" I pouted, poking her.
"Who said it was funny? Here." She kissed my scalded hand and succeeded in keeping a straight face, despite the occassional twitch of her lips.
I stared at her for a moment, then let out a deep breath and chuckled.
"Alright it's funny ok? I'm just a little shocked."
She laughed and kissed my nose.
"Cara, I don't know what I did to deserve you, but I'm glad I did it."
"Will you stop? I'm not all that. And you keep saying things that make me sound like I am. If anything, I'm lucky to be with you."
"Cara, I've been in some bad relationships. Really bad. You... you make me forget all the bad things, and want to focus on the good."
I stared in to her eyes, and they seemed so truthful, so sorrowful...
"Come here." I whispered, and kissed her gently. There was a knock on my door.
"It's probably Anna..." Sam whispered. I rolled my eyes. I wanted to stay in bed with Sam... "Go on, I'll be here when you get back."
"Don't you have work?"
"I can go in when I want." She winked and gave me a light push. I kissed her again and went to my door. Anna was indeed standing there.
"Cara... about just now..."
"Hey, don't worry about it." I breezed, showing her I didn't care.
"Really? I mean, it was so embarrassing... I'm sorry you had to see that..."
"Don't worry, honestly, I'm fine. Just a bit shocked was all."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, completely. Now go and drink your tea before it gets cold and I'll see you when all of them lot," I gestured towards the kitchen, "wake up. I got loads of bread so we can feed them."
"Oh, ok. Well, sorry again."
"Go." I smiled, and watched her walk back to the stairs before shutting the door. I slipped in next to Sam and let her kiss me.
"There, that wasn't so bad."
"Shut up, and come here." I ordered as I rolled on top of her.
