Alcina: No Turning Back Now

I feel the bus slowing down. I look up and the screen says it is my stop. My new world. Anthropia.

I grab my suitcase and my back pack. In them is everything I own. Every memory I have kept through seven foster homes and two cardboard boxes. I am here to meet my future. No one waits for me beyond those doors. No one will ever tell me what I can and can't do. I will be my own person.

I step from the bus and face the tall gates that stand in my way. I can here the bus start its noisy engine and crawl off to the next stop. I take a deep breath and take the last two steps up to the guard.

"Hello, my name is Alcina. I am new here. Could you please open the door for me?"

Well, there is no turning away now.

The End
