Courtney - Rest In Peace

Aislinn and I hurried down the stairs towards the commotion and when we arrived a horrible scene met our eyes. A woman was holding a knife to Alexandria's throat pressing the point of the knife deeper and deeper into her neck.  A small drop of blood trickled down the knife, Alexandria had fainted so could do nothing to save herself. As for the men, they were firing their weapons but the shots seemed not to reach where Guinevere and Alexandria were standing, it was as though there was an invisable forcefield stopping the weapons attacks from penetrating the protective bubble surrounding Alexandria and her attacker.

With a cackle Guinevere rose the knife high in the air, crimson blood was dripping of the point of the knife on to Alexandria's limp body and within a second she had lunged the knife straight into Alexandria's heart - killing her stone dead.

With a sickening thud she hit the ground and Guinevere releasing the shielf she had conjurded up disapeared, satified at a job well done, however not before Aiden had managed catch her with the sword causing a bloody wound but not killing her. I screamed and ran towards Alexandria's bloodied body, shaking her shoulder and begging her to wake up but it was no use. Aiden reached out and grabbed her wrist, desperately searching for any pulse. He rose his head and I could see tears sparkling in his eyes as he began to cradle is beloved wifes body in his arms.

I got to my feet shakely, allowing the tears to silently run their course down my face.  Princess Alexandria Riordana, my best friend was dead, I couldn't quite believe it, I didn't want to believe it.

I broke into a run, doing what I always did in situations I didn't like or couldn't handle. Running Away.

I didn't stop running until I had reached the meadow where Alexandia, Aislinn and I used to play when we were little, where I crumpled, crying until I had no more tears left to shed.

I wiped away the remaining tears from my eyes and sat up, staring across the flowering meadow. A butterfly fluttered past my face and landed elegantly on a nearby flower, I smiled - Wherever Alexandria was now, i thought she was happy.

I watched as the butterfly took flight again, flying gently in the breeze into the sunset, not a care in the world.

Pippa - Things Can Only Get Better From Here!

I could hear the monotonous beeping in my ear again as I woke up again but this time I was able to open my eyes. My vision was blurry at first but as it focused the first person I saw was Nessie; leaning over me, relief on her face.

"Thank god your awake you have been unconcious for days, I have been ever so worried!"  I proped myself up with my elbow and smiled at Nessie, I could tell she had been crying as her mascara was smudged and her eyes glistened slightly.

I pulled her into a gentle hug, "I'm so glad I'm awake I.... ouch" I had tried to sit up properly and my ribs had started to ache so I laid back down, instanly making the pain stop.

"Hows Alex?" I asked, looking up at Nessie "Is she awake yet?" Nessie took a little while to ponder this before she eventually said "No, not yet but the nurse said she will be waking up soon." A faint smile flitted across Nessie's face, first time she had something to smile about in ages.

At that moment Lucas popped his head through the door and said, "Ness, Alex is starting to come round!" before his head diseapered back around the door.

Nessie helped me out of the hospital bed and handed me some crutches which were leaning against the wall, I would inevitably have to walk with these for a while, and we made our way to the room where Alex was.

We all crowded around her and watched as her eyes began to focus, I wobbled slightly trying to keep myself up, Eric clasped my shoulders slightly, making sure I didnt fall down.

"She's awake! Oh thank goodness she's awake!" Nessie said taking hold her Alex's hand.

"I thought you were dead!"

"Don't ever scare us like that again." Nessie said, her voice trembling slightly as she clasped her best friends hands in hers.

"I'm so sorry for everything." Logan said, moving closer to Alex's bed.

Alex blinked a few times the she said "I'm fine." Her voice was croaky and groggy.

"Thank god you're ok. I don't know what... what I'd have done..." Nessie trailed off and Alex pulled her into a hug and told her that she loved her, that she loved all  of us. she directed this last at Logan, who had moved back slightly as he had assumed that this didn't include him.

"Alex, I'm so sorry." He looked so ashamed. "If there's anyway we could start again..." "I'll think about it" she said simply.

"I don't think I ever want to sleep again." Alex laughed and we all grinned. At that very moment a doctor arrived and started to usher us all out of the room so that he could cheak Alex over, we all made our way outside - we needed a bit of fresh air after being cooped in that hospital for god knows how long.

I collapsed onto a wooden bench outside the hospital and breathed in the fresh air, Nessie sat next to me and Logan, Luke and Eric all sat on the ground facing Nessie and I who were sat on the bench.

I grinned at the smiling faces of my friends around me.

Things can only get better from here.
