'Hello beautiful,' someone's voice whispered in my ear. I felt strong, warm arms snake around my waist and pull me closer. I didn't have to guess twice as to who it would be. A spasm of guilt shot through me, cold and painful, but I ignored it. Turning around, I pressed my lips to his and smiled.
Okay, so what I said earlier about the King having a dirty little secret was a little hypocritical I guess, considering I had one of my own. I had been dating Matt for a little more than a year and to him everything was fine. To me, it was the exact opposite. I didn't last long in relationships, but Matt was so good for my social status so I stuck with him.
Tall dark and handsome he had caught my eye instantly. We began seeing more and more of each other and I thought it was going really well, until he broke the news to me that he was in love with Alex. Also, my best friend. I had never felt so betrayed and from that very instant I had made it my mission to break them up. It wasn't going so well, but at least Logan still partly wanted to be with me. It gave me a shred of hope, one that I was still desperately clinging to.
'You ready for English?' Matt raised his eyebrow, interlocking his fingers with mine.
'When aren't I?' I laughed sarcastically. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Logan staring after me. I wouldn't say he looked distraught but his expression was pained enough that I allowed a small smile to play on my lips.
Maybe the day wasn't going to be so bad after all.
