Shall We Dance? - H.C Chapman

Couples waltz with grace, as music plays, around the hall.

A young woman sits at a table alone, ringlets craddling her
fragile face.

Her light purple dress and  masquerade mask perfectly
suit her, but no one seems to notice.

The last song starts to play and the woman is still by herself.
Her emotions sparkle through her eyes.

A man moves past the dancers, his eyes locked on the women
under his raven mask.

He smiles and he bows to her. His hand's out waiting,
looking in her eyes.

He leans in, his words catching her breath. "Shall we dance?"

The End
