"Won't you let me in, Jacklyn?" A terrible laugh broke the silence of the night, along with the small sound of claws tapping against a thin windowpane. "I won't hurt you."
Jacklyn tore the covers off of her face, now frustrated. "You'll never come into this house!"
"Oh, why not, my dear?" The vampire's voice was smooth, each word flowing together, under the heavy mask of the somewhat stereotypical Transylvanian accent.
"I won't let you take me." Jacklyn's small legs and feet brought her to the window, where she sucked her thumb, fighting against her tears. "Like you took Mommy."
