If Cyborgs ruled the Earth, Rachael mused over a cup of french vanilla coffee, "old" humanity might be considered obsolete, broken even if we did create the new way of life in the first place.
It made her consider strange questions. What would we become? Would the cyborgs be machine enough to enter the void of space unhindered? Human enough to feel warmth and love? Hate? Would we become almost godlike?
She thought the human condition might eventually be a thing to be altered by will rather than chance, a notion that struck her as scary.
