Hi, my name is Mandi, and I live on an island in Lake Huron called Manitoulin Island.  It's a beautiful place, though rather isolated, as there are only a few scattered small towns instead of one larger city.  It's a great place to try and get some writing done, however, because there aren't many distractions, such as movie theatres, night clubs or shopping malls.

I've known I've wanted to write since I was in the second grade and had a very short story printed in the local newspaper.  I enjoyed seeing my name in print.  I still have a clipping of the story somewhere.  I haven't, as yet, completed anything I'd want to send in to be considered for publishing, though.  I tend to continuously start new projects, because there are just way too many ideas floating around in my head, and I don't want to lose any of them.

I will read pretty much anything that crosses my path, including cereal boxes.  I don't necessarily have a favourite author, though I'm rather fond of the works of Tolkien, and I don't mean just The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.
