“Darkness always had its part to play. Without it, how would we know when we walked in the light? It’s only when its ambitions become too grandiose that it must be opposed, disciplined, sometimes—if necessary—brought down for a time. Then it will rise again, as it must.” -Clive Barker, "Abarat"

Modest Venus is a sobriquet that I have assumed by my tendency to muse about love and all  the pitfalls of it.  As a tribute to the Greek Goddess of love, Aphrodite, I use her image of beauty and divinity to convey the message I wish to relay to those who read my work. Venus has always captured my attention because of her luscious and waterfall-esque locks of red hair, which is a trait of my own that I have come to appreciate.
