Please do give Average Joseph a gander, perhaps even put your two cents into the "Make Joe's Day" fund :)
I quite like wit. It's generally the deciding factor in whether or not I like a story. For this reason, I thoroughly enjoy The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. All of them. :D
I also fail at writing profiles; stories are much easier. <<
Oh, that gives me an idea!
The Profile
There was a Profile named aryst0krat's. He was a young Profile, only a week or so old, and still not fully developed. His peers were beginning to worry about him, saying that the chances were very good that he would never become a true Profile. Aryst0krat's started to take these words to heart, and was soon convinced himself that he would never reach his potential as a profile.
However, aryst0krat's was not a quitter, and he decided that even if it was a sure thing he would never reach his potential, he should still do his best to try. So he worked very hard and forced himself to become a few sentences and some smilies. It wasn't anything special, but it got the job done. He was, for the moment, content, even though he knew he was only the shadow of a proper Profile.
And then inspiration hit! With one simple word, aryst0krat's the Profile was changed forever. The words soon began flowing, and before he knew it he was a profile of anywhere from decent to great length and wit, depending on the opinion of the person observing him.
And that's the story of how aryst0krat's came to be the Profile he is today.
Maybe an hour later, aryst0krat's underwent surgical editting to correct some issues he had been having, convincing himself that many Profiles got it done and that it was a perfectly safe procedure. He now maintains he's never been happier.
