Song Of The Day = Dream Theater- In The Presence Of Enemies Part 1

Hello there, I am Alex. Welcome to my profile! As my username suggests, I love music. I just love how a few relatively diverse sounds can be mixed together to make a relaxing melody or a heavy riff. I have a very large variety of music taste. I love anything from metal bands like Agalloch and Havok to softer stuff like Secondhand Serenade and Hedley. I've loved reading for as long as I can remember. I remember when I was only 6 and one day, for no apparent reason, said to my mother 'I want to read. I want to read a big boys book.' We made a pile together at the top the easier ones, at the bottom the more difficult ones. I found it hard but I kept at it and within a month I had read Matilda and all the Harry Potter books which were out at that time. I was extremely proud of myself. I still read every night but now I read things I would deem more interesting. I read books about lucid dreaming and dream psychology. I may not understand some of it but the bits I do are incredibly interesting. I only really started to enjoy writing when I was 10, about 3 years ago. I had to write a short story for an English test. After that all my English teachers loved me, they say it's because I read a lot. I think it's because of that and I enjoy it. As many compliments I get about my writing I can never tell myself 'Yes it is, I'm proud of this.' I don't like my own work and your probably won't either. I've always had an interest in dreams and your subconscious. My parents thought it was stupid but about 2-3 years ago I found out about lucid dreaming and I really wanted to do it. My parents wanted me to stop trying and thought it was stupid. I carried on trying for one though... Did reality checks constantly. Now I can have a lucid dream every other night, I don't need to do reality checks anymore. I can tell whether it's a dream or reality by the intensity of my senses. If that isn't a success, I don't know what is!
