"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." (Anonymous) "The best way to get over a woman is turn her into literature." (Henry Miller)

It never ceases to amaze me just how much people take words for granted!  I began writing aged twelve after discovering Bryan Adams and all his undying classics. Some time past before it struck me that whilst listening to music and thinking: "this is great!" not to mention deciphering meaning from songs and thinking: "this is so evocative!" I was always oblivious to a glaring truth. The lyrics are the components which encode the music and allow meanings to be understood. It followed that I started to write lyrics because I wanted to fulsomely appreciate their importance. Admittedly a number of former hobbies I'd taken up became neglected but songwritting and lyricism never fell to the same fate. In 2010 I wrote a musical homage to my late grandmother entitled: 'Remember Jenny' (a digital link to which, I shall leave below). On my quest to embrace words and their wider contexts, I have applied to study a Linguistics degree as of 2014 onwards with the dream of one day becoming a professional lyricist and inspiring somebody else with words in the same way: Jim Vallance, Bryan Adams, Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Don Black, Brandon Flowers, Ben E. King, Doc Pomus, Mel Tillis, Bernie Taupin, Sir Tim Rice and Gretchen Peters Etc. inspired me.

So now we reach the small matter of this profile and the lyrics herein. I sincerely hope you find them interesting and whether you do or not, I invite you to be as vocal as possible concerning my work (honesty is the best policy). I pride myself on telling unusual perspectives regarding everyday phenomena, so you should come across that theme in my literature without too much trouble!

Because I am keen to make a career out of composition I will of course be happy to do business and write any lyrics you need for highly competitive commissioning rates (please message me for more details).

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours Faithfully,

The Wordsmith
