"A man can't have everything. I mean, where would he put it?" - Spike Milligan

Bram E. Gieben (AKA Texture) is a poet, piss artist, and member of the gutter press. Based in Edinburgh, he is the curator of Weaponizer and Black Lantern Music, and sings in the band Morphamish & Texture.

A founding member of the team that started The Skinny, a successful free paper based in Scotland, Bram has also written freelance for The List, Clash and other publications.

Bram has performed poetry across Scotland as a solo performer and as part of Chemical Poets. In 2007 he won the Big Word Slam. In 2008, The Chemical Poets released their first book, 'Manual 01', through Red Squirrel Press. The book includes original illustrations by a range of international artists, alongside poetry, short stories, crosswords and script excerpts by Bram and his fellow Chemical Poets, Tickle and Harlequinade.

Bram is currently working on a stage play, the first draft of a novel, and collaborating on several scripts for short films. He cites the unholy trinity of Warren Ellis, Grant Morrison and William Gibson as the biggest influences on his writing. He also mixes records, and in a former life was one of the residents at the infamous Edinburgh club Dogma. He drinks stout by preference, sometimes with a tequila chaser. He prefers cats to dogs, and his favourite colour is blue.
