"Mr. Rearden," said Francisco, his voice solemnly calm, "if you saw Atlas, the giant who holds the world on his shoulders, if you saw that he stood, blood running down his chest, his knees buckling, his arms trembling but still trying to hold the world aloft with the last of his strength, and the greater his effort the heavier he world bore down on his shoulders - what would you tell him to do?" "I... don't know. What... could he do? What would you tell him?" "To shrug."

I'm Ian McPeek, an aspiring craftsmen of stories and tales of all sorts. To me writing is something I want to do for the rest of my life. I'm not sure if I'll make it as a published author, but I would like to have my stories written somewhere in the world for readers to see, even if that means me finding a job in some other field of work in order to support myself.

One of my favorite authors is Ayn Rand for her books The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged, even though George Orwell's 1984 and Catch 22 by Joseph Heller are some of my top picks for books to bring with when stranded on a island.

Currently I have several ideas for stories I plan to write, but the problem is finding the time and motivation to get them down on paper. For now I can only revel in the night that I finished writing my first story.
