BRAND NEW! solo work:

Poor Knights - A tale of The Poor Knights of Christ and the Temple of Solomon and their doomed quest to obtain the Holy Grail, written 250-300 words at a time, as would be encountered on the pages of a novel.

If you're interested in knowing what I used to do on Protagonize keep reading.

Protagonize is my harbor of escape. I look forward to notifications of additions to my pet project, and cherish the time I get to add to it myself. It's an orphaned western I adopted when I joined. I'd like to see numerous authors contribute because I have an idea for it to be a vivid character study.

You see, the main character is a Confederate soldier in the American Civil War. He returns to his plantation home in Georgia during the months of Sherman's March to find it razed to the ground. Miraculously, his family has survived, and he determines to spirit them away. But the refugees are accosted by Union soldiers, and his wife is shot. Worse still, he is forced to finish her himself, for mercy sake.

I was interested to see just where a character that experienced the horror of the Civil War and suffered killing his own wife would go. But more interesting was where that character could go under the guidance of motley authorship. There's no planning, no brainstorming, just on-demand creativity.

Read the story, get into John Love's mind, and tell us how he is coping, what he is doing to keep busy, and why he is a man changed. Work off of the spontaneous and organic material provided by the author before you. All I ask is that you keep it sequential, and please make the story go only as far as the world limits it. If and when the project gets bigger, we will discuss more in-depth guidance.

The story is ripe for the picking. I would love to see more contributions to it by any and all writers whom this synopsis has intrigued. If you are reading this, The House of Love is waiting for you. Go to, read the story, and help develop this character. I look forward to hearing from you, and I know everyone else does too.
