a 20-year-old lady from the United States
I'm an artistic engineer living in Oxford, Mississippi... home of William Faulkner and all his crazy subjects.
I'm very happy with my life right now. I don't have a boss. My husband and I own a concierge business, so apart from the occasional work that I do for that, I spend most of my time at home. Currently my first priority is training my 9 month old Belgian Sheepdog, Joshua. I'm getting good at understanding dog psychology, and that's exciting. I also have a Sphynx cat named Barnabas who loves to sit on my lap at the computer.
I like to read, but probably not nearly as much as many of you do. I write a lot more often than I read. I've been an avid writer of poetry since I was a small child. I've never written a novel because it always seemed too daunting a task. I've written a few short stories here and there, but I don't think they're particularly good because I was too focused on making them perfect. I've learned my lesson now; You can't be obsessed with what the outcome will be. That's my Rule 1 in all forms of art.
I'm good at writing essays, journals, reviews, etc. Also I've always been good at creative writing when working with someone else, because that naturally forced me to avoid the tragic flaw that I mentioned... caring too much about the outcome. When I just let go and focus on the one section I'm writing, I tend to do well. I think that I will be much more successful the next time I attempt to write a novel.
I love music but I'm very picky. Some people might say I hate music. For that reason I usually don't talk about it. If you're curious, I like my music intricate and well-constructed. Heavy is preferable. See Tool for details.
I've played guitar since I was about 14, but I recently realized that I've been playing it all wrong. Now I'm relearning it altogether, teaching myself "classical guitar" as much as I can with an electric. I'll buy a classical guitar someday... I also play piano, and I whistle. My husband is an amazing drummer. I also draw, paint and sculpt with whatever material presents itself to me. I'm very analytical. I'm good at math and I understand physics. I care a lot about my country and I trust that we'll be able to get it out of this mess.
I love board games; especially Risk, Monopoly and Scrabble. I speak Spanish decently and I'm enthusiastic about learning other languages. I eat lots of vegetables and exercise daily. I love coffee. And tea. And Indian food. And my favorite fruit is cantaloupe.
Please feel free to email me about any of these topics, even canteloupe. rac7hel@gmail.com
Now go back to reading stories already!

Banana Bana Bo Bachie,
Me My Moe Machie,
Rachie!"
So funny."
Hey, at least the idiot who's running your country elected himself. Our idiot was actually voted-in by the people... Sigh."
On the other hand, rank 7 is a long ways off, but at least then it'll match your handle."
And Barnabas is a cool name for a cat.
Really actually not flirting with you - come on, you're a married lady - but if you want to play me at scrabble on facebook you should add me as a friend and fire a game up. I need a good challenge - all my friends are rubbish - and I suspect, if your vocabulary is as good as your writing, that you may be quite good...?"
Also, update all 3 of those stories. Thanks for letting me know where to put 'em."
They should be a bit more relevant starting next month, though, as WordClay.com is signing up as our first independent advertising sponsor, and they'll be running a short story contest I'm sure many readers will be interested in participating in."
Just had a read of your epic poem done with Writers Block. Hey, man, you are good! No offense to them but you have a really good sense of rhythm and are very inventive - wanted to just read the whole thing if you had written it all, but I guess that's not the point of this thing...
Keep up the good work."
And thats the song that I wrote for you just now within the two seconds of me being here. I'm about to post another story. Stories tend to be like flatulence to me. Usually I have to wait a little longer than most people to really build up a good one. HAhahaha"
But if someone does I'll tell you and you will know that I had the idea first at least!""
OH CRUEL FATES! I was just about to post a new idea to story writing on here too. It will change the way we think of writing."
