"PineBarrens" after my favorite episode of The Sopranos. Love that show!

I've been writing a screenplay for a couple of months now, and I have also been struggling to keep with it. Hopefully this website will help me gain some enthusiasm so I can finish it, and keep writing new works.

I mainly write screenplays and short stories, with the occasional poem thrown in there. There are a couple of competitions coming up so I'm trying to focus on them. In one of them, there are sections for short-stories, poetry, and one-act plays. I'll probably put some up on this first before I enter.

I love film, all genres really. If I get a hold of some money, I will spend it on DVD's. To partially quote Goodfellas: 'To me, being a film director is like being the President of the United States'. It would really be a dream come true to write and make my own films, and I'm going to do my very best.

Top 10 Favorite films (keep in mind this is a rough list, that constantly changes, and I know I'll forget a really important one) :

  2. Goodfellas
  3. Fargo
  4. The Lives Of Others
  5. One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
  6. Road to Perdition

Favorite director is hands down Quentin Tarantino. I love his work so much, and his screenplays are just unfathomable.

MUSIC! I love music just as much as film. All kinds of Metal, and Hard Rock tend to keep me in awe.

Top 10 Favorite Bands (again, this is really rough and constantly fluctuates):

  7. Bullet For My Valentine
  8. Jimi Hendrix

  10. Led Zeppelin

Okay, what else...

I love reading, but for some reason I'm a really slow reader, so I don't get through many books :P

Top 5 favorite books (as you can see I tend to base a lot of stuff on Top 5 or Top 10 lists. It's just how I roll)

  1. The Book Thief - Markus Zusak
  2. Lord Of The Flies - William Golding
  3. The Straw Men - Michael Marshall
  4. Hammer Of The Gods - Stephen Davis
  5. The Mafia: The First 100 Years - William Balsamo & George Carpozi

I love The Sopranos, and the many writers of the show are just total geniuses. In particular: Terence Winter, one of the most comedic writers, is also the creator of Boardwalk Empire ; Michael Imperioli, who plays Christopher in the show is a terrific actor and also a great writer (the character he plays is also a writer, but not a very good one); David Chase, of course, the creator of the show; etc. etc.So much of my inspiration is from The Sopranos. Steve Buscemi's work on it is also top notch.

Okay, I think that's it. If you have any questions or just want to have a chat, don't hesitate to leave a comment on my page.

Thanks, Sean   :)
