"If you want to be happy, set a goal that commands your thoughts, liberates your energy, and inspires your hopes." - Andrew Carnegie My story is pretty common ... I always loved writing, but didn't think I could make a living with it. So I got a degree, a "safe" job, a corner office with a window ... What I didn't bargain for was the time drain (50 hours a week, plus a 2-hour daily commute), a hyper-controlling boss, and vacation time limited to a precious 10 days a year. I was only 26 when I thought, "There's got to be a better way!" That's when I discovered the hidden world of paid writing opportunities - something nobody told me about while I was growing up, dreaming of writing novels. I still write novels ... and love it. But I also write websites, and persuasive content, and emails, and social media posts for clients with deep pockets. I work from a home office, my dogs snooze at my feet, and my time is my own. Life is good. But it's a little solitary. That's why I'm here -- to connect with other writers who understand the thrill of stringing words together. And if I can help anybody launch their own paying writing career while I'm here, all the better! Happy to pass on any tips (learned from the trenches, mind you!).
