When asked why I write...
I have honestly no clue as to why I write...I never have. I've always been a language child, and I guess that's because words have fascinated me. The moment you put them together, they can become beautiful like two people in love. When two lovers get together, they make a baby, and that's like my words and I. Writing is just a way to release my thoughts to see if anyone thinks the same way that I do, although what I think is never expressed in my writing. I can write better than I can speak, which is fairly ironic and backwards, wouldn't one think? But it's true...when I speak, it's like I'm tongue-tied nearly all of the time, but when I write, someone else takes over for me, and before I know it, I have a beautiful product before me. I used to actually watch TV and write at the same time. I would have pages of stories when I was really young, and I would stop doing them because they didn't seem worth it any more, but when I showed my mom, she wanted to keep reading. I can't control it, but it's just who I am. My favourite saying (of my own making) these days is, "I draw through words." I suck at drawing with a pencil and paper, and a lot of my friends are skilled artists. I used to envy them, but I draw through words. A picture may be worth a thousand words, but my words are worth pretty much. My words can make you feel like you are inside of the picture instead of just looking in, and I love being able to transport my reader when they would rather be anywhere but where they are. Giving them something to feel, without knowing what they're feeling. I guess that's why I write.
