"Courage does not always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, 'I will try again tomorrow'" I have been writing ever since I can remember. I love writing short stories because through the magical simplicity of words we can narrate a story briefly yet profoundly. I published my first work - a book of short stories called Terra Cotta Beauty, in 2014. It tells the story of people doing life together in Lagos, Nigeria (where I am from) during the era of military rule. All the stories are connected. I am working on my first full length novel. This is a challenge for me as I have grown accustomed to writing my narratives in short form, but there have been many lessons learned which have collectively strengthened me as a writer and I am so thankful for this journey.
