"Qu'importent les victimes, si le geste est beau? - Laurent Tailhade" Hey there, I'm J, and since I tend to ramble, I'll try to keep this intro short and sweet. I've been writing since I was six or seven, and I've been doing NaNo (the National Novel Writing Month) since '06. I haven't won yet, but that's not the point for me - I'm there to have fun, and challenge myself. Similarly, I'm here on protagonize to improve and enjoy - and hopefully, others will enjoy reading what I've written. My approach to my writing tends to be a serious one, though subtle jokes and absurdities can be found throughout. I also often sum up my premises into short summaries which point at the ridiculousness - it's very misleading as to the actual content, but meh. My favourite authors are Albert Camus, Simon R. Green, Dean Koontz and Neil Gaiman. I read SF, fantasy and supernatural fiction, though lately I've added suspense thrillers, books on philosophy and mystery short stories to the list. I'm fairly sure I will never read romance - or at least, I'll never admit it if I do. Book-wise, my favourites are the Chung Kuo series by David Wingrove, the Deathstalker and Nightside novels by Simon R. Green, The Stranger by Albert Camus, Colin Thompson's Future Eden, and Neverwhere and American Gods by Neil Gaiman. Plus a host of excellent short stories, but I won't get into that... What I'm writing now - Marked: Follows two threads, that of a girl named Michaela as she struggles to regain her future, and a woman named Caroline, who is being stalked by an unknown presence. And when he discovers the two are one... well, the mind of a murderer, when broken of all restrictions and social delusions, should be a fascinating thing, no? Thanks for stopping by my profile, hope you enjoy what you may find!
