"“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.” ~Maya Angelou" My name is Shalvia, I'm currently sixteen years old. My writing style mainly focuses on LGBT subjects although I do love the idea of a good horror or suspense novel as well. Unlike other teens my age I grew up on black and white movies, classical music and classic novels such as Jane Eyre and the Tales of Angria. I know pieces by Chopin and Beethoven and can hum the tunes of Scott Joplin. My family reared me to be cultured and I am grateful for it. I love all types of literature, music, and media. However the more modern music and films today tend to vex me so I try to veer away from them. I am a very simple person. It doesn't take a lot to please me. I find myself quiet a loner and although I love a good intellectual chat now and then I prefer to find solace in literate and melodies of Bollywood films. I adore the Japanese culture and plan on travelling there in the future. That isn't to say that I don't love other cultures as well. i love all cultures and wish to learn as much about them as I can before I pass onward. For think of life as a fleeting moment and in the blink of an eye you could have missed a lifetime of substance. Taking as much with you to the grave, to have changed the world for the better, this is what I plan to do. I want to leave my legacy behind and have been made immortal through my writing. I can't wait to begin my journey here as an author. I hope to learn a great deal from others as well as give what I have learned (however meager the information it may be) to those in need of it.
