"Nothing in nature is in vain." - Aristotle I panic to think anyone might read my stories, and I'm worried that no one ever will. While more specific challenges were being cast about in a group once, I was given the challenge to write something normal. I returned with a story whose body consisted of near one hundred words; the other couple thousand were in the footnotes. It was about a girl with eighteen legs and the perilous attempts of two construction worker superheroes to quell the onslaught of the limb-laden mutant. I have of course written on themes of a more sober level, but I was challenged to be "normal", and as much as I really wanted to play along, the pen refused.
