"I have always thought that heaven would be a kind of library."--Borges I have a BA and an MA in English; an MLS (library science); and an MFA in Creative Writing. The MFA was definitely the most fun degree to earn, and it helped me to actually finish that novel I'd been working on for ages. My major writing interest is in YA and Middle Grade fiction. I have lived in seven states, and find setting particularly compelling as a starting point for my writing. As a frustrated archaeologist (which has fascinated me since I discovered Ann B. White's Lost Worlds at age 8 and read it at least six times (I think I was the only person who ever checked it out of my Junior High library)), I find myself often writing from history. Both of the novels I have completed are based on historical events.
