Bigmama (Alice Hendriks)

I'm the mother of four gorgeous adults and the granny of three precious darlings.

I was born in South Africa and spent the first 50 years of my life in the same small city.  After living in the Netherlands for five years with my Dutch husband, we relocated to England four years ago.

In South Africa I got a D.Phil. (Musicology) and used to be a music teacher and lecturer.

Always interested in creative writing and after writing music reviews for a newspaper in South Africa for just over 15 years, I decided to join a creative writing group in a nearby town.  As a member of this stimulating group I found my niche in poetry, but also like to do some prose.
