I am Canadian, in my thirties, married, I have two cats and a dog, no kids yet.  I own my own bookkeeping business and also am a part time karaoke host.  I am new to this site.  I like it because it gets me to actually write.  So many times I sit down at the computer to write but end up surfing the net, playing scrabble on facebook, answering e-mails.  This, believe it or not, helps me focus so I think it's great!
